WATER COLOURS & WAX CRAYONS
I love the simplicity of this beautiful art project; it's a classic that we probably all have tried at come point during our childhood. I particularly love the version of this project presented in the beautiful ART WORKSHOP for CHILDREN book by Barbara Rucci of @artbarblog.
Art Workshop for Children is not just another book of straightforward art projects. The book's unique child-led approach provides a framework for cultivating creative thinking and encourages the wonder that comes when children are allowed to freely explore the creative process and their materials. It's one of our favorite go-to books for simple, creative ideas and I highly recommend adding it to your collection!

MATERIALS:
- Liquid water colour paints or regular water colour paints - We stock some beautiful natural pigment water colour paints in out online shop.
- Wax crayons
- Water colour paper
- Brushes
HOW TO:
I'm sure this project doesn't require much explanation; draw patterns on the paper using wax crayons then paint over the top using water colours. The paint will be repelled from the wax crayon areas allowing your crayon drawing to be seen through the paints. For the best effects, apply the paint liberally with lots of water.
