Making wooden spoon people is a classic children's craft project I think we have probably all made as kids. Even though it has been done a thousand times, I still love it. There is something magical that happens, as soon as you add the eyes, the spoons come alive! In fact add a pair of googly eyes to pretty much anything and it comes alive.
MATERIALS:
- Wooden spoons
- Paddle pop sticks
- Googly eyes
- Coloured yarn
- Cord or elastic bands
- Fabric scraps
- Marker pens
- Hot glue gun or PVA glue
HOW TO:
To make the hair, wrap some yarn around your hand or a piece of cardboard to make a bundle. Make a shorter bundle for shot hair and a long bundle for long hair. Remove the yarn from the cardboard or your hand and tie around the middle with a piece of yarn. Then trim the looped ends to make the hair.
Now begin to make your wooden spoon people by gluing on the hair and eyes. Draw the face with marker pen. Add arms by attaching a paddle pop stick with an elastic band or cord. Then add some clothes or accessories with fabric and cord. Now it's time to play with your cool characters.
