Tiny Cardboard Worlds
Over the last few years my daughter (currently 8 yrs old) has developed a passion for constructing crafts from cardboard boxes. It started with making DIY dolls houses for her Barbies which were filled with up-cycled furniture and funky decor.
The most recent obsession has been to make tiny food and table settings. The one I'm sharing below is a high tea created for her Monster High dolls!
I asked her recently why she loves building with cardboard and she said 'Well I have a Mum who wrote a whole book about cardboard crafts, so what do you expect!' She has grown up watching me craft all manor of things from cardboard so it kinda makes sense.
I'm afraid I don't have tutorials for how all her awesome creations were made, so you will just have to use the photos as inspiration for your own ideas. I have created a list of the materials she used, which might be helpful.
MATERIALS:
- Old cardboard boxes - It helps to have a few different thicknesses of corrugated card
- Hot glue and PVA glue
- Scissors and a craft knife
- Acrylic paints and brushes
- Wooden and plastic beads
- Coloured paper
- Wooden cocktail or kebab sticks
- Colourful cupcake patty pans
- Fabric scraps
