STICK FAMILY

We love making crafts based on children's books and The Stickman by Julia Donaldson is one of our favourites. After we made our stick family we decided it put them in the garden as mini scarecrows.
MATERIALS:
- Sticks - Y shape stick for the body and a shorter straight one for the arms
- Coloured yarn
- Googly eyes
- Hot glue
HOW TO:
Collect some Y shape sticks and some smaller straight sticks. I cut them to size using a small saw.
Place your straight stick across the Y shaped stick to make the arms and tie in position. Begin wrapping yarn around the twigs to secure the arms in place.
We wrapped around different coloured yarns to make their 'clothes'. To make the hair wrap yarn around your hand or a piece of cardboard, remove the bundle of yarn and tie a knot around the middle. Trim the looped ends of the yarn to make the hair. Cut a mouth with a saw or craft knife and glue on eyes and hair using a hot glue gun.
Happy crafting friends!
