SPIN ART

So I finally got a salad spinner, if you don't have one already, get one! They are hours of crafty fun. We love this kind of messy process art, it's just about making pretty patterns.

WHAT IS PROCESS ART?
The most basic definition is art that focuses on the process rather than the outcome.

WHY IS IT GREAT FOR KIDS?
Process art is perfect for young children, and at it’s core, provides an experience that is open ended and engaging. There is no right or wrong in process art. There is no outside or inside the lines. There is just what is!

In our house we love a bit of messy process art. It is so nice just to indulge in the colours and patterns you can make with no concern about to final artwork. Usually when we do large artwork like this I save all the paintings and use them as homemade wrapping paper.

MATERIALS:

• Paints - paints in squeezy bottles make it easier but if you don't have them, you can just dollop big blobs of paint in with a brush.
• Salad spinner
• Paper cut into circles

HOW TO:

This one doesn't really require any explanation, just pop the paper in the salad spinner, add blobs of paint, spin and watch the magic happen. It's pretty addictive, you will need lots of paper!
