Shoe Box Dolls House
We made this fun cardboard box house inspired by the ART HOUSE project on my kids craft book ADVENTURES IN CARDBOARD. The ART HOUSE project in the book is made using huge cardboard boxes to make a giant, art covered cubby house. However if you don't have a huge box, this is a great alternative to make a dolls house for your little toys to live in.

HOW TO:
Cut the down the middle around 3 sides of the box so you can open the box to see inside. Add cardboard 'floors' inside the box to make an upstairs and downstairs. Now begin decorating you box using paints and collage materials both inside and outside. You can cut windows and doors using a craft knife. Once all the decorating it finished, you could also make furniture for your house using items from your household recycling.
I did this project with a group of children as part of the launch event for my kids craft book. I loved seeing all the varied and colourful ideas the kids came up with. Each house was so unique.
