PRIDE FLAG art project
To celebrate Pride month in June, we decided to create our own flags. To begin the project, I gave my children the prompt to create a flag that represented something about themselves, their family or community that they want to celebrate. We also talked about how we can express ideas of inclusiveness and love for those around us and why this might be important.
To create our flags we used calico fabric, acrylic paint pens and a garden cane cut to about 50cm long. You don't need to buy new fabric, an old bed sheet will be just fine! If you don't have paint pens, you can also use permanent markers or fabric paint.
