MONO PRINTING

This is one of the project we recently tried from the fantastic kids art activity book ART WORKSHOP for CHILDREN by Barbara Rucci of @artbarblog.
Since first trying mono printing whilst studying art at school, I have been hooked. I love how simple the process is (which makes it perfect for kids). Even through the process is simple, each time a print is revealed I still get excited! If you are not familiar with the book Art Workshop for Children, it is a fantastic resource of beautiful process art focused art activity ideas for children.
MATERIALS:
- Printing block - In the book Barbara used a perspex box as the printing block, we didn't have one of these so we used a ceramic tile instead, any hard, non-porous surface will work
- Poster paints (tempera paints)
- Brushes
- Thick cartridge paper
HOW TO:
The process is very simple; cover your printing block with different colour paints. Carefully lay the paper on top applying an even pressure all over the paper. Be careful not to move the paper as it will smudge the paints. Carefully peal the paper off to reveal your mono print. Clean the printing block and repeat the process to make another print.
Happy art making friends!
