This fun and easy mixed media weaving artwork is one of the projects you can make with our EMBROIDERY & WEAVING craft box. I love all the different patterns and textures you can make just with weaving different yarn and beads through the mesh base. The craft box includes enough mesh to make 2 small panels like this or one large artwork.
Weaving is a fantastic project to develop children's fine motor skills and finger strength. The projects in this craft box are suitable for ages 4 years +.
MATERIALS:
- Mesh base
- A variety of different colour and texture yarns
- Wooden beads
- Pipe cleaners
- An extra large tapestry needle and embroidery needle
All the materials are available as part of our EMBROIDERY & WEAVING craft box.
HOW TO:
Thread your yarn onto a large tapestry needle and begin weaving in and out of the mesh base to make a pattern. Change colour yarns to make beautiful multi colour designs. To add the beads you will need to use a thinner yarn and a smaller embroidery needle that fits through the holes in the beads. (All the needles required are provided in our craft kit!)
