My daughter loves making jewellery and using modeling clay, so I thought we would try a project being both together!
MATERIALS:
- Modeling clay that you can bake - we used Fimo
- Wooden beads
- String or thin cord
- Pipe cleaners
- Colourful yarn
- Coloured markers
HOW TO:
Shape your mermaid tails from modeling clay adding texture for the scales and poking a hole through the top. Bake the clay to make it hard following the instructions on the packet.
Add a long length of cord to the top of your mermaid tail as shown. Make sure the cord is long enough to go around your neck with extra to tie at the back.
To make the arms, bend a length of pipe cleaner, making a loop in the middle and adding small wooden beads to make the hands. Thread large wooden beads and your arms onto the cord making the mermaid body and head.
Colour in the beads to add clothes and a face, then glue on a bundle of colourful yarn to create the hair. Your mermaid is finished!
