We love doing craft projects that are also something you can play with and this fire truck was much loved and played with in our house. If you're not into fire trucks, you could get creative and make a car or digger too!
MATERIALS:
- Egg cartons
- Other items from your household recycling like bottle tops and cardboard
- Wooden craft sticks
- Paints
- Multi purpose glue
- Cord or string
HOW TO:
To make your fire engine you will need 2 egg cartons. To make the 'cab' of the fire engine, cut 2/3rds of the lid off your first egg carton. Then cut another whole lid off the second egg carton to make the base for your fire truck. Cut a small section of egg carton to make the sirens. Glue all your egg carton pieces together and paint. We then cut 6 wheels from thick cardboard and decorated them.
Glue your wheels to your fire truck. We also decorated our truck with bottle top head lights, windows and a fire hose. We used a large plastic screw and some rope to make our fire hose, just get creative and use what you have to hand! We also made a ladder using wooden craft sticks. Once your engine is assembled, now you are ready to play!
