DOG MAN COSTUME
My 5yr old totally loves the Dog Man books by Dav Pilkey so this year for Book Week he requested a Dog Man fancy dress costume, so here it is!
MATERIALS:
- Cardboard
- Craft knife
- Hot glue gun
- Black marker pen
- Blue paint
- Orange felt fabric
HOW TO:
Begin by cutting out 2 dog head shapes from thick cardboard to make the sides of your Dog Man head. Cut 2 dog ears, then cut 2 strips of cardboard, one long enough to fit from the back of the head to the eye hole and another strip to fit from the eyes over the nose to the front.
Curve the strips of cardboard and glue them to the sides of the Dog Man head using a hot glue gun. Secure them in position with cardboard tabs on the inside.
Add cardboard tabs to the top edge and glue the second side of your Dogman head on top. Attach the ears to the side of the head. Then draw on the eyes and other details with a black marker pen.
To make the hat, cut out a circle of cardboard to make the top of the hat and then cut an oval shape for the base. Cut a strip of card and glue around the circle to make the hat. Paint the hat blue. We used orange felt fabric to make the Dog Man logo on the hat. Now glue the hat to the Dog Man head.
