DINOSAUR COSTUME
We love making our own costumes, we love dinosaurs and we love a big cardboard box so this had to be done! My kids loved stomping and roaring in the home made cardboard box dinosaur costume.
MATERIALS:
- Cardboard boxes - 1 large box for the body and 1 small box for the head
- Extra scraps of cardboard
- Craft knife
- Paints and brushes
- Hot glue gun
HOW TO:
To begin with turn your cardboard boxes inside out and glue them back together so you have a clean surface to paint. To make the head, cut around 3 sides of the box to make the mouth opening. In the base of the head box, cut a head sized hole. Add teeth around the mouth.
For the body, cut off the base of the box. Cut arm holes in the side and cut a head hole the same size as the hole you made in the base of the head box. Glue the head box onto the body box with the holes aligned.
Now add a tail, spikes and eyes to your dinosaur. Paint your dinosaur with your favourite dinosaur colours and get ready to stomp and roar!
My boy loved making and playing with this dinosaur costume so much, that we decided to make a new version and include it in my first kids craft book UNBOXED: Adventures in cardboard.
