For this project we had been thinking about endangered animals and had researched the Monarch Butterfly. They undergo an amazing migration from Canada to Mexico. When a butterfly leaves Canada it is it's grand children that arrive in Mexico!
MATERIALS: Cardboard, paint, string and a stick.
We also made printing blocks to print our butterfly shapes but you don't have to do this, you could just paint them. For the printing blocks we used a block of wood and glued on cord in a butterfly shape.
TUTORIAL: Paint your cardboard orange and print your butterflies in black.
Add white dot details to your butterflies.
Cut out all your butterflies and fold them in the middle.
Take 2 butterflies, put them back to back and tie them together with the string. Add a knot to your 2 strings and then add your next butterflies making a long garland.
We made 3 strings of butterflies then attached them to a stick at the top. Make a loop of string in the middle so you can hang up your mobile.
